Ace Avionics provides 24-month certification
CFR 14, 91.411, 91.413, or both, are required every 24 months for most aircraft, and we can help you understand what inspections you will need to stay legal.
Ace Avionics offers flat rates on these inspections.
If you only fly VFR, your aircraft will only need to have the transponder inspected per CFR 14, 91.413. We inspect the transponder, Altitude encoder, and Static system to make sure you’re transponder is reporting correctly to ATC.
For the IFR pilots, inspections will include CFR 14, 9.411 and 91.413. These inspections will include the altimeter, transponder, altitude encoder, and static system. During this inspection we can also check the accuaracy of your airspeed indicator as well.
A common question we get is:
“do I have to have my transponder inspected if I don’t use it?”
The FAA rules say that a transponder cannot be used unless it has been inspected in the preceeding 24 months. There has been some argument that if you have a transponder installed, but don’t turn it on, are you breaking the rules. It will be up to the FAA inspector doing the ramp check to determine the outcome of that question.
At Ace Avionics, we say “better safe than sorry”…besides…the inspection is inexpensive and doesn’t take that long to perform.
We will be be happy to give you a quote, and/or schedule an appointment to take care of your aircraft for these inspections.
